What does a vibration dampener actually do?
A dampener reduces the string vibration you feel and the ping sound at contact. It changes feel and comfort for many players but does not prevent tennis elbow — string choice, tension and technique matter more for that.
What is lead tape used for?
Lead tape adds weight to specific points on the frame to customise swing weight and balance — for example, weight at the head for more power or in the handle for more control. Add it in small increments and test as you go.
Do I need a grommet set for my racquet?
Grommets protect your strings where they pass through the frame. If they are cracked or worn, replacing the grommet set prevents premature string breakage and is worth doing at a restring.
